Mistress Lyndia of WoodLyn

Order of the Laurel, Court Baroness, Queen's Order of Grace, Harp Argent, Leaf of Merit, Patent of Arms, Grant of Arms, Award of Arms.

Lyndia is a variant spelling of Linda, and WoodLyn comes from the household name derided from Woody and Linda. Because WoodLyn comes from the two names, it is traditionally spelled with the "L" capitalized to give equality to the founding members of the household.

Mistress Lyndia joined the SCA in AS X in the Barony of the Angles (Los Angeles) in the Principality of CAID (Southern California) in the Kingdom of the West. She became a talented Middle Eastern Dancer and costumer and won a full war point in the third Resilingshire/CAID war. Later she again won a full war point for a research paper on Middle Eastern costume at Estrella, thus becoming the only person to win two war points single handily. She became Vickoress and then Baroness of the Angles. During her reign, she helped in the drive to make CAID a Kingdom and Co-Autocrated the first CAIDian Coronation. Just before the official declaration of CAID as a kingdom, His Majesty Paul Rex awarded her Court Baroness. She was instrumental in her support of the founding of Heatherwine, a Shire form out of the lands of the Barony. She also supported the foundation of the three Baronies, Altavia, Gyldenholt, and Lyondemere from the vast lands of the Angles. In support of her Lord, she stepped down from the baronial throne and went into a period inactivity for 2 years. Returning to the SCA, Lyndia spent her time in co-founding WoodLyn Library, helping with fund raising and organizing in Angels, and teaching costuming at Collegiums. She was inducted into the Order of the Laurel in recognition of her contribution in costuming research. In AS XXVI, she moved to the Shire of RavenShore (back to the Kingdom of the West) were she has continued to operate the Library and teach on occasion.  Again in support of her Lord, she has worked since AS XXXIII in providing improvements for a small war site at WoodLyn Manor (Raven's Pour, Fool's Crusade I, II and III.

Lyndia's interests are the Library, costuming, cooking, photography, the Middle East, and Japan.
