Baron Fredrick of WoodLyn

Court Baron, Queen's Order of Grace, Harp Argent, Order of the Dolphin, Leaf of Merit, Patent of Arms, Grant of Arms, Award of Arms.

Fredrick comes from FRED and HendRICK and WoodLyn comes from the household name derided from Woody and Linda. Because WoodLyn comes from the two names, it is traditionally spelled with the "L" capitalized to give equality to the founding members of the household.

Baron Fredrick joined the SCA in AS X in the Barony of the Angles (Los Angeles) in the Principality of CAID (Southern California) in the Kingdom of the West.  He became Vickor and then Baron of the Angles. During his reign, he helped in the drive to make CAID a Kingdom and Co-Autocrated the first CAIDian Coronation. Just before the official declaration of CAID as a kingdom, His Majesty Paul Rex awarded him Court Baron. He was instrumental in his support of the founding of Heatherwine, a Shire form out of the lands of the Barony. He also supported the foundation of the three Baronies, Altavia, Gyldenholt, and Lyondemere from the vast lands of the Angles. Due to excessive "burn-out" Fredrick stepped down from the baronial throne and went into a period inactivity for 2 years. Returning to the SCA, Fredrick spent his time in co-founding WoodLyn Library, helping with fund raising and organizing in Angels, and teaching pavilion design, exchequering and library sciences at Collegiums.  He served as CAID's Exchequer for three tax reports.  In AS XXVI, he moved to the Shire of RavenShore (back to the Kingdom of the West) were he has continued to operate the Library and teach on occasion.  Since AS XXXIII, Fredrick has, with the help of his Lady and many volunteers, made permanent improvements to WoodLyn for a small war site (Raven's Pour, Fool's Crusade I, II and III).

Fredrick's interests are the Library, cooking, photography, chronicling the Middle East, and Japan.
